The goal is to use fresh, quality fruit, and for this recipe we only need four ingredients : Fresh spinach, pineapple, banana, and mango.

I like to use fresh fruit and freeze the pineapple and mango ahead of time, but you can also use store-bought frozen fruit.

For a creamy, smooth texture, it’s best to blend in stages :

  1. Start by blending the spinach leaves with the liquid.
  2. Then add the fruits (freezing them in advance means you won’t need ice cubes).

Notes

Notes
  • Not a fan of bananas? I can’t digest them raw either. I often swap the banana for ½ an avocado, or simply skip it and add more mango to keep the smoothie thick and creamy.
  • No added sugar needed — stick to naturally sweet fruits like apple, pear, banana, or mango.
This smoothie can be made the night before and stored in the fridge. Just give it a quick stir before drinking.
